Duncan & Francis
Certified Equine and Canine Massage Therapist
"I have been around animals my whole life. I have always wanted to be a part of helping them and understanding how to communicate with them. My wife and I started our business, Heart & Hooves Horsemanship, which has become a huge part of our lives. Over the past couple of years, watching all the different horses come through, I could see different issues that the horses had and the struggles that the owners were having, too. I began to wonder how I could help them. Researching massage and oils soon became my passion. Since then, I have attended Armstrong Equine Massage School and am a Certified Massage Therapist. I have had several training on the Raindrop Technique. One of the many reasons I attended school has to do with my wife's horse, Cash. He has Lordosis and Lyme which means he needs a lot of maintenance. He has taught us so much about the benefits of massage and oils. We believe every horse comes into our lives for a reason, and his has been to direct us in a way to understand and learn about our horses health and well-being. I am passionate about helping our animals be healthy and happy." Francis
What is Equine & Canine Massage Therapy?
Equine Massage Therapy is the manipulation of
the soft tissues of the body which includes
muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.
It is an ancient complementary therapy first
documented in around 2,700 BC by the ancient
Chinese. Using their hands, the therapist can feel
for any muscle swellings, tightness, spasms,
stress points and uneven muscle tone
across your horse’s body. Using a combination
of different massage techniques the therapist
can work to relieve the areas that are causing
your horse discomfort or preventing him
from moving at his best.
Lady & Spur
2 years later, he is the healthiest & the happiest he has ever been as we begin our 2019 season. He is the reason we started doing massage and YL oils.
Our success with this therapy is why we share it with all of you!

I can’t say enough on how much Francis has helped my horse, Sherman. Sherman has always had a stiff back and this past summer he became very sore. I had Francis give Sherman two massages and he has improved immensely! He is much better and I’ve noticed he backs up more easily now. I give Francis 5 stars for his ability
to assess and treat horses using massage.

I have a 5 year old mare named Joey who got white line disease in the fall of 2016. As a result, 75% of her hoof had to be resected January 2017. She was lame for over a year off and on. I had her adjusted by a chiropractor three times this year, her left knee and right shoulder were causing her a lot of pain as she was trying not to put all her weight on her bad hoof. X-rays of her hoof showed there was no white line left and her hoof was healthy and strong. I was to the point where I was going to haul her to the cities to a lameness specialist to find out what was going on with her as she shouldn’t have still been lame on that hoof anymore. This fall, Francis massaged her twice and gave her a raindrop. After the second massage & raindrop, she was NOT lame and hasn’t taken a lame step since! Thanks to Francis, she is 100% which is a HUGE relief. I had her adjusted by the chiropractor a month after Francis fixed her to see if there was anything remaining that needed adjusted. She was ‘clean’
for the first time in over a year! I will continue to bring her to him for maintenance as
I know the incredible benefits this has on her. –
